Bowden CC U13a’s opened their league season with a convincing win over Gt Oakley CC.  Winning the toss Bowden skipper, Sam Haynes-Coote inserted Gt Oakley into bat.  Finn Carnduff got a wicket with the first ball of the match and the opposition never really recovered.  John Tughan got the key wicket of the Gt Oakley’s Jay Manson with Haynes-Coote getting the other wicket.  All 9 bowlers that Bowden used bowled tidily restricting Gt Oakley to 33 off their 18 overs.  In reply Bowden reached the target with over 10 overs to spare.  Olly Rodgers hit 14 with Carnduff remaining unbeaten on 14.

However, Bowden were knocked out of the cup by a strong S&L Corby.  Batting first, Bowden came up against a quick opening attack – but they played well through this period with Harry Wilford scoring a composed 8.  When Wilford was dismissed this brought in Olly Rodgers to join Finn Carnduff – they proceeded to amass a great 4th wicket stand of 79.  Olly Rodgers finished undefeated on 34 with Carnduff out for 43 with Bowden finishing on 97 from their 18 overs.  In reply S&L Corby never looked in trouble passing the total with 3 overs to spare with Bowden unable to get their key players out.
