Bowden Second team began their Northants Division Nine game at home against Kempston Seconds.
Stand in skipper Rob Gomez won the toss and put Kempston into bat. Steve Bellamy took an early wicket for the hosts, but the batting of Mark Harding (58) took Kempston to 60 for 1.
After a couple of bowling changes Kev Woodhead and Dan Poynton helped turn the game.
Despite a late rally from the Kempston tail Bowden restricted the visitors to 167 for 8. Poynton (3-40) Woodhead (2-19) Bellamy (2-37) and young Elliot Baker (1-7) the wicket takers for Bowden.
In reply, Bowden openers Rob Gomez and Dan Poynton made 65 for the first wicket before Poynton was given out LBW. Rob Gomez went on to make 76, the fall of his wicket brought new acquistion Ryan Wilson to the crease.
Wilson (24*)in partnership with Tony Roberts (38*), made short work of chasing the Kempston total.
Bowden chasing down 167 and winning by 7 wickets.
Bowden Seconds are away to Abington next week.
