Opening bowlers Joe Whitworth and Dan Broughton bowled consistently in tandem. Grendon and Prims losing three early wickets with very few runs on the board.
Grendon batsman Dan Wood had an effectual influence on the game for the hosts, although early in his innings. Wood did have luck on his side surviving two close LBW shouts and having being dropped, he capitalised on his good fortune and made 104 to move the game into the favour of Grendon.

After the tea break, the Bowden top order succumbed to the pressure enforced by Grendon.
The top six batsman failed to muster a score above 9.
A valiant performance from Dan Broughton (55) and a patient knock by Wepener Groenewald (27) gave Bowden a chance to bat out the 50 overs to secure a losing draw.
The resilience shown by the Bowden mid to late order wasn't enough to avoid defeat.
