Having won the toss Bowden took to the field. Early into the Kempston innings the batsman took the initiative and capitalised on the inconsistent length from the Bowden bowlers. The inclusion of Steve Bellamy (3-18)  changed the game in Bowden's favour. Sam Keenan (4-49) improving through his spell. Despite letting  five catching opportunities hit the deck Kempston were all out for 147.

Anthony Paton (34) Tony Roberts (28) and a patient innings from Dan Masic (39 not out) were the main contributors to the Bowden innings. Chasing down the Kempston innings with the loss of 5 wickets.
