Bowden Girls played some exciting 12 over cricket at Ketton with Bowden winning one match and losing two against a good Ketton Kittens side. In the opening game Ketton scored 76 runs with wickets falling to Gracie C, Gracie B and Darcie. With the bat, Bowden Girls managed 63 runs for 3 wickets in reply, the best partnership being Rachel and Hannah with 23 runs and Gracie B hitting a four.
After lunch Bowden came out determined and in the second match Bowden Girls hit 69 runs for 3 wickets with Gracie B and Grace scoring 32 of those runs in a partnership that saw both hit a six. Ketton Kittens crumbled in the second game scoring just 26 runs as a devastating spell of superb bowling from Bowden Girls saw Carys take 4 wickets, Claudia and Grace K take two a-piece and Gracie C, Darcie and Rachel all getting a wicket. And so it was all to play for in the final match.
Bowden opened the batting and found Ketton's bowlers in very economical form scoring 66 runs for 3 wickets. The best partnership was Gracie C and Darcie scoring 22 runs with Darcie hitting a six and two fours. Grace also hit two fours and Gracie B, Claudia and Carys also managed to find boundaries. Ketton came out for the final session with a modest target and they kept their nerve to score 75 runs despite Carys taking two wickets and one falling to Darcie.
A very enjoyable afternoon and thanks to all the girls for a great team effort.
