Match report Weakened by the holidays Bowden slipped to a defeat by a Houghton side boasting several county age group players. The initial bowling was accurate with Hobbs changing pace cleverly with good support by Sayles (who also took a fine catch off his own bowling and a run out), Roginski, Nicholson, Reuther and Ashley. Houghton batsmen made great use of a short boundary. Again a "gettable" total was pushed out of reach by the number of extras conceded.
Horsfall, Hobbs, Winter-Hall, Reuthe, Cook and Nicholson all made starts but then were out. Matthew Sayles looked comfortable until becoming the innocent victim of a horrendous mix up and run out. His misfortune merely allowed his sister to stride to the crease to stroke the bowling around and finish not out.
