Match report Bowden's three match winning streak ended when losing to a powerful Medbourne A who were smarting after their second team were comprehensively beaten by Bowden.
Bowden bowled well with Sayles and Dinsdale impressing. Sayles took a catch which will be long remembered by all who were there and must be a contender for catch of the season. The opening bowlers were well supported by Hobbs, Roginski, Winter Hall (weighing in with two good wickets, Shellard and Edwards making his first competitive bowl. The fielding was tight with Cartwright acquitting himself well behind the stumps and Reeve, Nicholson and Ashley making key stops to stop runs.
The way Bowden have been batting 107 to win was achievable but for once the opening pair didn't make their solid start. Sayles was bowled by a rocket that kept low, the same county bowler accounted for Cartwright and thereafter wickets fell regularly with only Hobbs continuing his rich vein of form, making 22.
The Medbourne coaches were very complimentary about the Bowden team, saying that with a bit more luck the result would have been very close. Onwards and upwards.
