Match report Bowden U13s fought all the way to the end in their game against Kibworth but came out narrow losers at the rec. Kibworth batted first and started strongly scoring rapid early runs but the introduction of Tom Shellard, bowling an impressive spell of leg spin, slowed things down. Tom Shellards` 4 overs got him 3 wickets for 12 runs and changed the shape of the Kibworth innings restricting them to 112 runs for 5 wickets. The other wickets went to Will Hobbs with 1 being bowled and 1 a fine run out. Bowden set about chasing down this target with gusto when they batted. The start of the reply went well with Matt Sayles scoring an unbeaten 26 and Jake Cartwright adding 7 to the score. Bowden kept up with the required run rate early on but as wickets began to tumble the required run rate grew. A quick flourish of boundaries from Elliot Dinsdale in the middle order gave Bowden some hope but this was short lived. Tom Shellard troubled the scorers at the end with a well struck 11 not out but Bowden fell short of the winning post finishing on 85 for 8.
