Match report A first outing of the season for Bowden U13s saw a close game against Kibworth B. Bowden were playing at home and they took to the field first. Matt Sayles, the new Bowden captain, opened the bowling and led by example claiming the first Kibworth wicket. The fielding and bowling of Bowden was tight and precise making it hard for Kibworth to score. Alex Winter-Hall took the second wicket and this combined with a good spell of bowling by Johnny Nicholson (2-0-8-0) resticted Kibworth to 101 for 2 from their 16 overs. Bowdens reply started well with Cartwright and Sayles putting on 39 before Cartwright was bowled for 11. Matt Sayles went on to score 26 and retired. The period in the middle of the innings saw Bowden stutter, losing wickets and scoring slowly, but a brave effort at the end by Jack Roginski (11), Will Hobbs (7 not out) and Joanne Weston (1 not out) took Bowden close but not quite close enough.Bowden finished on 84 for 5.
