Match report Heavy rain caused the abandonment of the game. The game was delicately poised but the farmers and gardeners had their wish with heavy rain.
Harborough batted powerfully seeking to score quickly but were kept in check particularly by Morris (2 for 18), Lane, Soysa, Sayles and Lee. However the bowler of the night was Thomas Revve who bowled superbly without much reward until his third over. Thereafter he became unplayable and returned figures of 4 for 21. Excellent stuff.
The target of 132 was challenging but, following his success the previous evening in chasing down that amount, Matthew Sayles was promoted to open with the man of the evening Thomas Reeve. Despite the bowlers reputation there were no alarms for the batsman. The score was a very promising 29 without loss after 5 overs when the heavens opened and that was that.
