Dan Impresses In Win Over Kempston

24 Aug 2015

The First Team continued their strong run, with a  maximum points victory against bottom side Kempston.
Bowden won the toss and elected to bat. Charlie Standley (38) provided a steady start at the start of the innings. But it was in form Dan Masic (97 not out) who was unfortunate not to make a well deserved century. He shared a 4th wicket partnership of 112 with a fine supporting role from Alex Frith (29). With the handy addition of 50 extras provided by Kempston. Bowden made 229 for 4 from 50 overs.
After the tea break, the Kempston batsman started strongly. With opener M Harding making (51) and number three J Biggs (84) it appeared that taking ten wickets would be a difficult task. But a three wicket burst from young Jack Bellamy (3-45) provided the catalyst for the victory. Sam Freer (5-47) and Joe Whitworth (2-48) the wicket takers. Victory ensured when Whitworth dismissed the final Kempston batsman with four balls remaining. Kempston all out for 208 in 49.2 overs.
