Bowden's first team travelled to Northampton to play Saints 3rds on Saturday. Having won the toss Bowden elected to field.
On a difficult batting track the Bowden bowlers troubled the Saints batsman. Joe Whitworth was unfortunate not to take a wicket but Sam Keenan (2-23) Wepener Groenewald (2-14) and Sam Freer (5-12) restricted Saints to 116 all out after 45 overs.
After the tea break, Bowden were pegged back by a disciplined bowling attack. In form batsman Anthony Paton made 21 before being caught, Sam Gomez was bowled in an attempt to hammer the ball to the boundary. Bowden at one point 51 for 4. But an unbeaten innings from Ben Wade 33. And 24 not out from Sam Freer guided Bowden to victory in the 36th over.
