Sunday XI suffer back-to-back defeats

On the 9th September Bowden travelled to Norfolk for their annual fixture against Holkham.  Batting first, Bowden made 188 all out with Gary Waterfield making 40, Steve Oldfield 33 and Gordon Robinson 31 scoring the runs. Holkham chased the total down with the loss of just 2 wickets, one of which was claimed by Will Hobbs, his first senior wicket. 

 

On Sunday 16th September Bowden took on Motley Crew. Bowden won the toss and choose to bat first. They made 155 for 7 in which Steve Oldfield with 46, Sam Gomez 28 and Tony Marlow 26 made the bulk of the runs. Motley Crew chased down the target for the loss of just one wicket. The game also marked the cricketing retirements of club stalwarts Andy Marshall and Steve Oldfield.
