After a long hard season Bowden's first eleven managed to secure their place in division 4 or the Northants Cricket league.
After winning the toss and electing to field Bowden started brightly with opener John Lee taking a wicket early into the Old Northamptonians innings he was supported well by the returning Ed Ingram. Old Northamptonians batted steadily throughout their innings with Mohsin Ahmed top scoring with  70. And after 50 overs Old Northamptonians racked up 198 for 9 wickets. (Rob Gomez 3-47, Mick Brammer 3-51).
After tea and knowing that 7 points from the game would guarantee safety the Bowden batsman went out and batted knowing that a losing draw would nearly be enough. Bowden made hard work of the task and wickets tumbled in the top order. Mick Brammer scoring 44 and was assisted by Tony Roberts, Rob Gomez and Alex Frith who all batted responsibly. Bowden held on with the loss of 9 wickets for 139 and managed to secure the losing draw, and managed to stay in Division 4 with a 5 point margin.
Bowden hope to move on next season and are looking to recruit new faces at the club that would hopefully enable a less stressful campaign in 2012!
