Bowden CC February 2022 Update

Hi all,

I hope you have survived the recent stormy weather and below is a Bowden CC 2022 February update

  • Winter training continues at the Rutland Cricket centre every Tuesday evening 7:15-9:15 with the use of the bowling machine. We have utilised video analysis of batting techniques and everyone who attended has found it beneficial so far.

     

  • Congratulations to Harry Wilford who has been appointed as 1st vice captain for the 2022 season. 1st team skipper Fran Finnemore comments that “Harry has developed his cricket skills over the last few years and is an outstanding example to all cricketers with his attitude on and off the pitch”.

     

  • Bowden CC continue to add to its sponsorship with Avatar Dining in Market Harborough providing additional financial support to the club and if you do visit Avatar, please mention Bowden CC. Gareth Owen has been busy speaking to local companies about sponsorship and if you have any contacts/ideas, please do contact Gareth (or this email). Please see attached the form to be a match ball sponsor and it would be fantastic if you could be sponsor. We also have sponsorship opportunities for:

  • Alex Frith has been busy organising social events with the traditional Race Night social is back on Saturday 9th April after a 2 year break. Please speak with Alex, Anthony or Gary Waterfield to buy a horse, sponsor a race or buy your tickets with fish & chip supper. Below is the social calendar:
    • May 28th – Shocking Shirt Night
    • June 25th – Quiz Night
    • July 30th – Curry Night
    • August 27th – Night Out
    • September (Date of last game) – End of season social and night out
    • October 29th – Cricket Awards Dinner

     

  • Lastly, all summer 2022 fixtures for mens, womens and junior cricket teams are now on the Bowden CC website and please do look through the dates.
