Bowden u13xi continued their good form with a comfortable 8
wicket win at the Langtons last night. In heavy, muggy weather conditions,
captain Freddie Wilson won the toss for the second match in succession and
asked Langtons to bat.
The openers accumulated nicely and were 27 without loss
after 7 overs. Thereafter, Bowden took wickets at regular intervals, 2 for
Louie Marchesi and one each for James Parry, Matthew Girardier, Luke Armstrong,
Dylan Pearson and Thomas Firth. Bowden were good in the field with a stumping
and a run out by captain Wilson and a direct hit run out by Charlie Rodgers.
Langtons ended up on 82-9 off 20 overs.
In reply Bowden never looked in trouble thanks to a strong
opening partnership between captain Wilson 32 retired not out and Charlie
Barkworth 12. Fynn Colley then came in and hit 3 fours in an over, his
quickfire 14 taking Bowden to their target with 6.3 overs to spare.
Another positive performance by the team.
