U13XI in to cup semi-final

21 Jun 2019

The u13xi made it to the semi finals of the u13 Cup with victory over Kettering Town at Bowden last night.

Captain Freddie Wilson won the toss, the first time we've won the toss all season, and decided to bat. The team got off to a flying start due to 32 retired not out from Charlie Barkworth and Jack Gray 23. Then Captain Wilson 30 retired not out and Fynn Colley 27, helped Bowden post a commanding 132-4 off their 20 overs.

In reply, Kettering were pegged back by some tight bowling and sharp fielding, 2 excellent run outs by Jack Gray and a catch behind the stumps by captain Wilson. Wickets were taken by Dylan Pearson, Josh Goodman, Matthew Roberts, Jack Gray and Charlie Barkworth. Kettering ended up on 83-7 off their 20 overs with an excellent 30 retired not out by Poppy Smart for the visitors.

A win by 49 runs and a meeting with Burton Latimer in the semi-final next week awaits the team.
