A weakened Bowden team, due to last minute injury to several
players, took on a strong Medbourne side at Bowden last night.
Bowden were put into bat and after a good start were soon in
trouble, ending up being all out for 64 in the 15 over. Main contributors were
Charlie Rodgers 22 and Dylan Pearson 10. Medbourne got off to a bad start with
Dylan Pearson taking a wicket with the first ball of the innings and then
wicketkeeper Freddie Wilson perfected a sharp run out off the last ball of the
first over. Lucy Weston (30 retired not out) and Alfie Clarkson (14) steadied
things, but two wickets in two balls by Charlie Rodgers pegged the visitors
back. Late wickets for James Parry and Louie Marchesi made it a tense finish in
the gathering gloom and rain, with Medbourne winning by 4 wickets.
This was a great effort by Bowden, only having 8 players,
and was their best fielding display of the season.
