Bowden CC Win 'Club Of The Year' & NCL Publicity Gongs

25 Nov 2017

Bowden Cricket Club has received recognition for the progress that it has made over recent years, by being awarded 'Club of the Year' in the 2017 Harborough District Sports Awards.

Club Chairman, Rob Gomez attended the annual presentation night, held at Leicester Grammar School, to receive the award, on behalf of the Club.

He said, "the award is recognition of the hard work that the Club's many valued volunteers put in to make the Club a success."

The awards ceremony heard of the development of the Club, since 2000, when a junior section was formed, through the opening of a new pavilion in 2005 and the creation of one of the first girls' teams in Leicestershire. The Club's junior section now numbers over 100 members, winning several trophies in the 2017 season, with the girls and senior teams also having successful seasons.

Bowden CC also won the ‘NCL Ian Davison Award For Media Coverage’ Awarded by the Northants Cricket League in recognition for all the publicity work by the club. The Committee would very much like to thank everyone who contributed last season, we are grateful for all the match reports and photos that we receive. And we look forward to publishing more content in 2018!!
