Brigstock 2nds Vs Bowden 2nds

Bowden's 2nds travelled to Brigstock knowing a win would keep them in hunt of promotion for this season. Stand in Skipper Rob Gomez won the toss and decided to put Brigstock into bat. Brigstock got off to a steady start putting 38 on for the first wicket. After that Bowden's bowlers took wickets steadily and restricted Brigstock to 172-8 in their 40 overs. Tom Reeve pick of the bowlers took 3-42 in his 10 overs. Woodhead took 2-22 in 10 overs and Tony Roberts also chipped in with a couple of wickets.

After tea Bowden set about their task with Gomez and Waterfield. Waterfield was out 3rd ball of the innings. this brought Alex Frith to the wicket. Frith and Gomez  put on 61 for the second wicket, before Gomez missed a straight one and was out LBW. Frith went on to make 41 but an excellent knock from Tony Roberts 53 and the experience of Steve Bellamy 10 not out helped Bowden reach their total for the loss of 6 wickets.
