For the majority of the team it was their first match of hard ball cricket and the whole team contributed to the victory. Runs for Jack Gray, Freddie Wilson, Charlie Barkworth and Charlie Rodgers led to a strong batting performance. Bowden were sharp in the field with a direct hit from square leg by Charlie Barkworth and two catches behind the stumps by Freddie Wilson.
