21 Sep 2014

A spirited Bowden first team travelled to play their furthest away fixture against Kempston. Having regular players unavailable the first team put out a side with varying experience in league cricket.

Having lost the toss on a wet, green wicket. Bowden surpassed their own expectations and posted a decent total of 187. Karl Pollard (58) and Tony Roberts (61) the main contributors.

After the tea break, Sam Keenan bowled testing in swingers.  Aided well by young first team debutant Jack Bellamy. The bowlers made life difficult for the Kempston batsmen. Jack Bellamy (3 for 25) Tom Reeve (2 for 32) and Wepener Groenewald (2 for 37) the pick of the bowlers. Kempston knocking the runs off in 43.1 overs.
